(GOT Missandei) Nathalie Emmanuel & Alleged Game of Thrones Racism

Náhled

[Image: 41e4fe85ec019ac0d3caaeebf94f7cb9] The ridiculous article here - (YAHOO is unabashedly always full of agenda and error) Nathalie Emmanuel Claims Backlash Over Her Characters Death Click Here Quote:Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel has finally addressed the controversy over her character Missandei’s heartbreaking death in the HBO show’s eighth and final season. As most fans will recall, she was killed off in the fourth episode after being captured by Cersei Lannister. It was especially brutal because Missandei was a former slave who was put in chains and then beheaded by the Mountain as her friend Daenerys Targaryen watched. The scene sparked backlash, and not just because Missandei was a fan-favorite character. Her demise was also a reminder of GoT‘s problematic treatment of race. 1 - There was no 'backlash' because of the death of the character. She made it to almost the end which a whole lot of other characters didn't do. And there was no complaints about her death .. only about the extremely bad writing and total destruction of the series, as a whole, by the writers. 2 - There was no 'controversy' over her death either. For the same reasons as stated above. 3 - She wasn't a 'fan favorite'. She was a third tier character who had no more use. She was a translator in a land in which Daenerys spoke the language just fine. She wasn't needed except to die as a catalyst to set off Daenerys in her final mad-queen run. 4 - There was no racism in production of Game of Thrones. When the scenes took place in the southern areas, the people were of color. When the scenes took place in the northern areas, the people were generally white. When it was in warm climates, the people were generally brown. 5 - There was nothing for TV to learn from in regards to her death. Nothing. Not a damn thing. It was fine. When people continually scream 'racism' when it doesn't apply .. then it loses its meaning and people don't bother to pay attention when it really does apply. Crap like this does more harm than good. And it's just retarded. Číst dále >>> Přeložit do en

Three ‘Game of Thrones’ nominees submitted themselves for Emmy consideration

Three ‘Game of Thrones’ nominees submitted themselves for Emmy consideration There's surely a lesson in here somewhere about first believing in yourself if you expect anybody else to. Game of Thrones fans are no doubt aware by now that the series, which took its final bow in May, racked up a record-setting 32 Emmy nominations this week -- but there's also a surprising tidbit you may not be aware of, related to three of the show's actors who scored Emmy nods as part of that total haul.Among the pile of Emmy nominations, HBO formally put forward the names of Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), all of whom scored nominations. However, that's not all of the show's actors who were nominated.Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Carice van Houten (Melisandre) and Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) likewise scored nods -- after submitting their own names for consideration. Yes, in case you didn't know -- self-submitting your own name as an actor or actress is allowed, and needless to say, the performers were overjoyed and glad they took a chance on themselves.https://twitter.com/lovegwendoline/status/1151181260238282752The fact that these three join several castmates actually sets up some pretty intriguing match-ups in various categories, such as Christie getting the chance to beat out Headey who's already won multiple nominations. Or for the men, you've got Peter Dinklage who's actually won a few times now possibly getting beat out by Allen, whose character arguably redeemed himself in a big way and won over viewers considerably during the just-ended eighth and final season. For these and many other reasons, such as the fact that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss likewise picked up Emmy nods despite getting tons of fan blowback for Season 8, the awards ceremony set for Sunday, September 22 will be an interesting one to watch, indeed.
